NYU Liberal Studies Core Program students—aka "the Freshmen"—headed to Moganshan for a weekend of writing, hiking and exploration, both of crumbling Jazz Age foreign concession-era resort villas and of their own emerging identities as writers.

LSP Core student Eulalie van Leeuwen a.k.a. Lily Lion was there with her camera, recording students reading their work in the woods, relaxing at memoirist and novelist Mark Kitto's Moganshan Lodge, and performing in the pleasantly spooky confines of the abandoned Moganshan church. She's edited the footage into a tight documentary short on the experience, "Fifty Students on a Mountaintop: Writing in Moganshan"

Enjoy! (VPN required within mainland China; Youku posting forthcoming).
